Why an Auckland roof
needs washing
Dirt, moss and lichen build up in the ribs of a metal roof and hold water there. On an older roof, that is where the coating gives out first.

No. It is low pressure and the solution does the work. High pressure is what strips a coating, which is why it is not used on a roof.
What is the difference between a roof wash and a roof treatment?
A wash takes off what is on the roof now. A treatment is applied to slow the growth coming back. Most roofs have the wash, and the treatment is worth asking about if yours greens up quickly.
Do you wash concrete tile as well as metal?
Metal only. Long run, corrugated iron and colour steel. Ask about tile and he will tell you straight whether it suits.
Do you clear the gutters afterwards?
Yes, and it is worth doing together. Most of what fills a gutter comes off the roof.
How do you reach the high parts?
Platform, ladder or rope and harness, whichever the job calls for. MEWPS certified and height certified.
